Works in Jan’s Totems series present icons, objects, and scenes as metaphors for reflection on current events and themes relevant to contemporary living, and works in his Market Makers series reflect on the role that branding, marketing, and social media have played in our conceptions of ourselves and society, where we ‘fit’ into society, and how a society works best.
These brass casts of racing-car-wheel-guns were produced and marketed in partnership with Italian manufacturer Paoli Motorsport to celebrate Jan’s being named official artist of the Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore’s official Podium Lounge Formula One race afterparty in 2019, as another totem to the value of fast-paced teamwork, in all fields of endeavor.
